“The hard work to get here was all worth it to get a text from my dad about how it seems like just yesterday we were both watching football games on TV, and now I’m working for the NFL.”
Jessica Giaccone, Class of 2023, is working for the Green Bay Packers as a Public Affairs Intern–a dream job for the STU Journalism alumna.
“I grew up watching football with my dad and quickly fell in love with the sport. As I grew up and realized I could be a part of the team in more ways than just being a player on the field, I knew I had found my dream,” said Giaccone.
“STU provided foundational journalism skills that shape the tone and style of press releases I’m drafting here. The advanced knowledge and support of my professors, like Don Dickson, Philip Lee, and Mark Tunney, helped me develop into the professional I am today in the NFL.”
Giaccone has already worked on major projects, including the 2026 NFL Draft and preparing to welcome artist Luke Combs for the biggest concert Green Bay and Lambeau field have hosted since 2019.
“On any given day, I could be working with community outreach, sales, fan services, or the players themselves,” she said.

“If you want a school where you are seen and valued, you want STU”
Originally from Lebanon, New Hampshire, Giaccone knew that STU was the university for her from the moment they visited a neighbouring high school for a college fair.
“STU is so special to me because it’s the kind of school where you never feel like you’re on the outside looking in. I met some of the most amazing people during my years there, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world,” she said.
“If you want a classroom and a school where you not only feel seen but also valued, then you want STU.”
Following her graduation from STU, Giaccone completed her Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Southern New Hampshire University.
